🎲 Hello everyone, and welcome to Newsletter #18! 🚀
In this newsletter, we’ll take a look at the game we’re currently working on — a project that will most likely become the next board game from Greymarsh Games! ⚙️✨

Sky Empire & other stuff!

First of all, I want to assure everyone that Sky Empire is progressing according to schedule and remains my main focus! You can find more information in the updates on the Gamefound campaign itself.

With this newsletter, I’d also like to share what’s happening at Greymarsh Games beyond preparing Sky Empire for production. Our goal is to get back into the habit of posting at least one monthly update so you can continue following our other projects as well! ✨

One very positive side effect of running a successful Sky Empire campaign has been something I honestly didn’t anticipate: quite a few game designers have approached me with games that are already well developed but currently lack a publisher. Some of these projects are even from well-known designers! 👀

We are also incredibly fortunate to have amazing people in our network (you know who you are ❤️) who have pointed these designers in our direction, and for that we’re truly grateful.

This leaves us with a difficult — but very exciting — decision ahead:

Should we focus solely on publishing our own games, or should Greymarsh Games also begin publishing games from other designers? 🤔

Interesting times indeed!

But enough about that for now — let’s take a look at the game that I hope will become the next title we publish, no matter what the outcome of that decision may be! 😄🎲

Prosperity Protocol

The ambition with PP is to create a medium-heavy euro game unlike anything else out there!

In general, I absolutely love playing euro games — but I often find the player interaction underwhelming at best. Too often, interaction is limited to negative actions such as blocking spaces with worker placement, hate-drafting cards from a display, or similar mechanics designed mainly to prevent others from progressing.

That perspective changed when I played Sidereal Confluence at the board game club “Pap & Drager.” It completely changed my understanding of what player interaction in board games could actually be.

With PP, I want to bring heavy trading and negotiation into the experience — with a strong focus on positive outcomes and genuine win-win situations 🤝
Even though the game is fully competitive, I want it to rely almost entirely on positive player interaction.

Right now, PP is aimed at:

👥 1–6 players

⏱️ 1½–2½ hours playtime

🧠 Complexity around 3.75 / 5 on the BoardGameGeek scale

Some of the key features I want to bring to PP:

⚙️ Heavy engine building with refining chains, production lines, and lots of materials

🧭 Exploration with meaningful choices

🌌 A strong 3X feeling — but without direct conflict

🤝 Extensive trading focused on creating win-win situations

🔐 “Mechanical trust”

🎨 Beautiful, deep artwork by Kino — and absolutely no “beige” 😄

🗿 Cool miniatures or meeples!

⚙️Completely unique action selection system

Story background of Prosperity Protocol:

The war was over.

The land lay in ruins, steeped in poverty. Hope for the future had all but vanished.

Then, one day, a simple farmer—armed with nothing but his bare hands and a pickaxe found it.

Voltaic Brine.

An energy source unlike anything the world had ever known. A liquid capable of storing and releasing vast amounts of power.

They called it Acid Gold.

Soon, machines awakened the world to possibilities no one had dared imagine—powered by voltaic brine batteries. Industry rose from the ashes. Factories roared back to life. The great upswing poured wealth and momentum straight into the failing body of communism, and from it, something new emerged.

A new government saw the light of day.

Universal Provision Socialism.

Under it, the people did not merely survive—they thrived.

Prosperity spread.

Peace endured.

In time, the citizens gave their government a new name,

not out of fear or decree, but gratitude.

From that day on, it was simply known as: The Prosperity Protocol.

Playtesting:

There is still a massive amount of work to be done on the development of the game itself, but I hope to be able to focus much more intensively on PP very soon! ⚙️✨

Over the coming months, I’ll be sharing much more from the playtesting process as the game continues to evolve. 🎲🧪

And finally — here’s a picture from the very first playtest we did the other day! 👀📸

That was it for this 18th newsletter from Greymarsh Games!
I hope you enjoyed the read — until next time 👋

Peace out!
